Sprouts/Microgreens - Chives, Garlic (seeds)
Garlic Chive Micro-Greens are a delightful addition to your indoor gardening endeavors.
Description
Garlic Chive Micro-Greens are visually stunning and taste like garlic. When grown as micro-greens, they resemble miniature scallions or perhaps miniature chives. These gourmet sprouts are a treat for both the eyes and the palate.
Growing Basics
Soaking
Garlic chive seeds do not require soaking. However, if you choose to soak them, do so for a few hours.
Planting
After soaking, plant the seeds on the second day. Cover them with a very thin layer of soil and tamp lightly.
Rinse/Drain
Water your seeds by rinsing and draining every 10 hours for 10-15 days until the sprouts reach the desired length.
Harvest
Garlic chive micro-greens are ready for harvest in 10-21 days.
Flavor
The flavor of garlic chive micro-greens is different from most other microgreens, making them a unique addition to your culinary creations.
Growing Medium
While they can be grown hydroponically, I recommend using soil for best results. Pre-soaking the seeds is optional, but sprouting garlic chives is definitely worth the wait.
Happy gardening!
