To start and maintain a container garden, follow these steps:

1. **Choose the Right Containers**: Select containers that have drainage holes to prevent waterlogging. Make sure they are large enough for the plants you want to grow.

2. **Select the Right Soil**: Use a high-quality potting mix that is well-draining and nutrient rich.

3. **Choose the Right Plants**: Select plants that are suitable for container gardening and consider factors like sunlight exposure and space requirements.

4. **Water Regularly**: Container plants dry out faster than plants in the ground, so make sure to water them regularly, especially during hot weather.

5. **Fertilize**: Container plants need regular feeding since nutrients can be depleted quickly. Use a balanced fertilizer according to the plant's needs.

6. **Prune and Deadhead**: Regularly prune your plants to promote growth and remove dead or wilted flowers to encourage new blooms.

7. **Monitor for Pests and Diseases**: Keep an eye out for pests and diseases and take appropriate measures to control them if needed.

8. **Rotate and Reposition**: Rotate your containers occasionally to ensure all sides of the plant receive adequate sunlight. Reposition containers as needed to optimize growing conditions.

By following these steps, you can start and maintain a thriving container garden.
